The Migration Policy of the Council of Europe as a Factor of Regional Security (at the Turn of the 20th-21st Centuries)

This article examines the main directions of the migration policy of the Council of Europe at the turn of the 20th-21st centuries and its impact on regional security. The intensification of globalization processes, armed conflicts, economic crises, and demographic changes has led to increased migration flows to Europe. The study analyzes issues related to migration regulation, the protection of migrants’ and refugees’ rights, strengthening border security, and international cooperation in the field of migration policy. Particular attention is paid to the impact of migration on social stability, counterterrorism efforts, and the prevention of illegal migration. The article highlights the role of the Council of Europe in developing mechanisms for ensuring security and protecting human rights under modern migration processes.
